Nay Lin Oo is a young man who works four days a week at a charcoal factory, and who was happy to spend some of his free time volunteering in a CWS-supported disaster risk reduction (DRR) initiative in the flood-prone area where they live in southwest Myanmar. Recently Nay Lin Oo joined a 7-day DRR Training of Trainers workshop and, after learning about ways and means to help reduce risks and harm in his village, and also having a chance to practice how to lead teaching-learning sessions for others, he said he feels really confident to work as a community volunteer by sharing his new knowledge with people in his community about how to mitigate and reduce risks from disasters as well as how to prevent common diseases, too.
