Workshop about diversified, valuable vegetable growing

CWS Cambodia | January 22, 2016

In Rung Roeung village in Northwest Cambodia Mrs. Koeun Leang is a Village Development Committee member who has realized a simple way to encourage people to increase their income and improve their lives – by bravely setting herself as example for others! In November 2015, after joining a CWS-sponsored workshop about diversified, valuable vegetable growing, she started her 400m2 vegetable garden. Within just 3 months she was earning 800,000 Riel ($200) from her sales – a significant income in rural Cambodia! Many neighbors, inspired by her success, have started their own home gardens, and the new challenge and opportunity will be for cooperative development among village households as more families succeed in their gardening.
