When we look back on 2017, the CWS team in Vietnam will remember that it was one of important growth when our work expanded to include teaching and learning about safer water from improved water filtration and storage. To support this new direction for our community partnerships, a series of education and training sessions about biosand water filtration was held for district, commune and village partners so they could learn about and then promote the making and use of biosand filters. So, in addition to sanitary latrine promotion, 100-plus biosand filters were produced during the first stage of this initiative to further facilitate community-led total sanitation (CLTS) in the communities that are part of our NEW IDEA for Vietnam project is made possible by our funding partner, the Evangelical Luther Church in America (ELCA)
