Forty-year-old Saw Edimoo is from a village in southwest Myanmar’s Ayeyarwaddy Region, where he is a volunteer for CROP’s Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction project, which is led by the local YMCA branch. Among all five project communities and 20 volunteers, Saw Edimoo is very active and most interested in helping with his village’s development. He has gladly joined all the education and training sessions the YMCA and CWS have offered, and he has generously shared his new knowledge during home visits and other education sessions back in his village. “I am very happy as a community volunteer, which helps me improve my own knowledge and experience in a way that has never happened before,” Saw Edimoo said; “And, I am happy to help others learn, too.”
