On September 6th, the CWS Child Safeguarding team visited Dara Academy in Chiang Mai and met with 12 school representatives, including guidance officers, chaplains, the school nurse and the elementary and secondary heads.
The team visited to follow up on the Code of Conduct Writers’ Workshop by reviewing the latest Dara Academy-specific code of conduct, and to explain next steps in implementing the code of conduct by outlining the self-evaluation assessment criteria to be used for both the code of conduct and reporting procedures. The team was encouraged to see existing child safeguarding measures in place, such as procedures for leaving school grounds during school hours, and support services for students who require help. The team will follow up the school’s progress in January 2021 to see how they are going with their implementation and self-evaluation”.
