CWS had joined the 67-member Scaling-Up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance, at the Myanmar national and Ayeyarwaddy regional levels as one of 14 international NGO members. The SUN-CSA goal is to eliminate all forms of malnutrition; and, invoking the principle that everyone has a right to food and good nutrition, the alliance unites civil society organizations to help ensure that small, independent, regional and national organizations have a voice to contribute to national dialogue and, importantly, to achievement of Scaling-Up Nutrition priorities. In support of our growing involvement in nutrition education for mothers of young children, CWS team members joined three SUN-SCA workshops last year, and joined the quarterly meeting in Ayeyarwaddy Region to introduces CWS priorities and projects. Realizing the great benefits to the families and communities with whom we partner in Maubin Township, CWS team members in Myanmar are now expanding CWS networking and working with more partners for greater effectiveness from connected and coordinated efforts.
