CWS Joins The Church of Christ in Thailand in Celebrating Its First Official Child-safe Church District

CWS Thailand | October 24, 2020

For several years, CWS has partnered with The Church of Christ in Thailand to expand awareness and understanding of the church’s Child Safeguarding Code of Conduct. In the past two years, 12 schools, three church districts and one hospital have formed committees and organized themselves to engage local church leaders, plus school administrators, teachers, students and their parents, to write and approve local codes of conduct. This week members of the Church’s Child Safeguarding Committee and staff (some pictured here) celebrated Church District 5 in Nan Province of northern Thailand as an official “Child Safeguarding Organization” within the Church. The head of the District, Therakit Suesarn, is standing to the right of CWS Asia Regional Director, Leslie Wilson (center). The Secretary General of the Church, Siam Muangsak is on her left. As the first organization among all church districts and schools and one hospital now active in the Code of Conduct initiative, District 5 is an inspiration to us all.
