In South Sulawesi, CWS and our partner INANTA continue supporting local government in through the SOLIDARITAS project, which helps them keep meeting milestones along the road to improved risk management in the face of many different threats from climate change. Recently, the Toraja Utara government, took additional steps to its strengthen disaster response capacity, including the very important step of regulating its Disaster Information System and Standard Operational Procedures for Emergency Response. Together, Dr. Arman Pasinggi noted, “these steps will guide government disaster management staff and provide the legal foundation for our work as well as for budgeting for disaster risk management. And, they will provide clear guidance not only to our government workers, but to all stakeholders involved in disaster management,” he added.
